Notorious BIG Estate Inks New Licensing Deal

The Notorious B.I.G.’s lyrical and musical impact on Hip-Hop cannot be overstated, as evidence by continuous references to him, his lyrics and his life by many current MCs, and the 2009 feature film “Notorious”, among other examples. Now fans and followers both old and new can be sure to get even more of Biggie in the coming years.

As reported on XXLMag.com, it has been announced that Notorious B.I.G., LLC, the estate of Biggie Smalls, has partnered with popular licensing and branding firm Brand Sense partners in a deal where the firm will be able to manage licensing and merchandising deals for the name and likeness of the late Brooklyn icon.

“The family and I are excited to move forward with the exceptional team at BSP,” said Wayne Barrow, current advisor to Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, and former manager of the rapper. “Their understanding of Christopher’s cultural impact, as well as their vision for our brand mission made them the best partner possible for the task. We look forward to working hand in hand with them to build on Christopher’s unique legacy.”

Management of the deal will fall on the shoulders of BSP’s Theresa Brown, a well-known and much sought-after celebrity-branding expert whom has also handled branding for the estates of Jimi Hendrix, Albert Einstein and Marlon Brando.
