    Brooklyn, NY June 28, 2011

    Brooklyn Bodega is proud to announce its newest additions to this year’s week long celebration of Hip-Hop and the “Planet of Brooklyn.”

     

    Ali Shaheed Muhammad
    Brooklyn born DJ/Producer and founding member of A Tribe Called Quest.


    DJ Evil Dee
    One half of Da Beatminerz and DJ for legendary group Black Moon ‘Evil Dee is in the mix’


    Mista Sinista
    World Champion Turntablist and Member of the X-ecutioners


    J-Live
    The Triple Threat – MC, DJ, producer and independent veteran since 1995


    Diamond District
    Composed of producer/emcee Oddisee and emcees X.O. and yU, these D.C. BHF Alums were specifically invited by Q-Tip to share the stage


    The Artifacts
    Tame One and El Da Sensei. Hip-Hop in its purest form. These graf writers from The Bricks turned MC’s have reunited after succesful solo careers

    Chairman Mao, DJ Getlive, Meka, The Stuyvesants, and Phony Ppl

    Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Diamond District are the first “Friends” to be announced who will be performing with Q-Tip as part of “Q-Tip & Friends” on Saturday, July 16th. Click here for tickets to the BHF’11 Main Day

    In addition to the Main Day, Ali Shaheed will also be performing a DJ-set at The BHF Afterparty following Main Day. DJ Evil Dee of Da Beatminerz will also be rocking the night away at Southpaw with a production set by The Stuyvesants. Click here for tickets to the After Party

    To kick off the Festival week, J-Live and The Artifacts will be headlining at the Show & Prove Super Bowl, on Monday, 7/11. This event features the winners of 3 prelims (Clear Soul Forces, Chris Faust and L.A.) who will compete for the opportunity to open up on the Main Stage on July 16th.     Mid-week, Hip-Hop fans can enjoy classic breakbeats at Salute The DJ on Thursday, 7/14. Mista Sinista of the X-ecutioners, Chairman Mao and DJ Getlive join an already illustrious line-up that includes Marley Marl who will be paying tribute to Mr.Magic with his “Rap Attack Live” showcase; Turntablist battle veteran, Roli Rho; the inventor of the scratch, Grand Wizzard Theodore; Chicago legend Twilite Tone; and returning host, Torae.
