    Inauguration thoughts

A couple of quick thoughts from Obama Day.
Working on a more robust post for this week

    - Don’t let anyone tell you different being there is different than watching C-Span
    - But it was hella cold, so if you decided to chill I understand
    - But I’m glad I didn’t
    - Be thankful for the MTA because the Metro ain’t built for that amount of traffic
    - L’Enfant Plaza was a riot waiting to happen around 7:30 am
    - Rick Warren and Diane Feinstein of all folks hit me hard
    - Rev Lowery was a great way to polish it off
    - Concert on Sunday was dope. Never saw Stevie or Bono live and HBO ran a tight ship
    - The volunteers on Tuesday BIZOUNCED after the speech. Where was the help?
    - It was like the Million Man March but with white people and women
    - Ducked into the Air and Space Museum to wait out the crowd. Highly recommended
    - People were out to get money this weekend. Street hustling was on NYC levels
    - The girls got almost a big of a reaction as the man himself
    - I thought the booing of Bush was very poor taste
    - Cheney rolling out in the wheelchair was so easy of a joke there was nothing to say
    - Jimmy Carter got mad love, who knew?
    - Y’all even booed hobbling old H.W. Bush
    - Not the best Barack speech but some great zingers in there
    - No energy, juice or money to hit the balls but props to those who had it. I was whooped
    - You see Barack’s face when Roberts messed up. That was the look your mama gave you when you messed up
    - Are we going to be talking about Michelle’s gear for four (eight) years? Not interested
    - I do not like what Pepsi did at all. More in that later
    - Let’s get to work. As my section said “We got your back”

    - Don’t let anyone tell you different being there is different than watching C-Span

    Agreed!

    - But it was hella cold, so if you decided to chill I understand

I do and I don’t. Weren’t you the one who said, you don’t wanna tell your kid you bailed ‘cos of the weather or the subway was hectic? Never a truer word spoken…

    - But I’m glad I didn’t

    Me too….

    - Be thankful for the MTA because the Metro ain’t built for that amount of traffic

Word! Their subway was STRUGGLIN’ – I almost missed my bus home cos the turnstiles (sp?) at Metro Center weren’t working right.

    - L’Enfant Plaza was a riot waiting to happen around 7:30 am

Was prety hectic at 5:45am too!

    - Rev Lowery was a great way to polish it off

Had already bounced. Even though I tried not to drink anything, after standing around for 6 hours I had to jet for a porta-potty stat as soon as Obama was done.

    - It was like the Million Man March but with white people and women

Wasn’t for me. Great vibes, but I actually felt more kniship and goodwill at the MMM.

    - People were out to get money this weekend. Street hustling was on NYC levels

True indeed. Can’t knock the hustle….

    - The girls got almost a big of a reaction as the man himself

I know. I’m just loving the fact they they are setting the pace for what poppin’ for kids in all ways and redefining poeple’s perceptions of who black children are.

    - I thought the booing of Bush was very poor taste

Yeah, but you knew it was gonna happen…..

    - Cheney rolling out in the wheelchair was so easy of a joke there was nothing to say

But saying that is not in poor taste??

    - Not the best Barack speech but some great zingers in there

Agreed. He subtly dissed Bush a few times.

    - No energy, juice or money to hit the balls but props to those who had it. I was whooped

    ??

    - You see Barack’s face when Roberts messed up. That was the look your mama gave you when you messed up

I thought Barack had meseed up at first! I should have known better. Dude is a f-cking BEAST!

    - Are we going to be talking about Michelle’s gear for four (eight) years? Not interested

I am or at least I am cosigning it. Having a real, deal black woman set the pace for women’s fashion, style and beauty?? How is that not a GREAT thing, as f-cked up as it is how the media has dealt with this historically??

    - I do not like what Pepsi did at all. More in that later

Thought it was weird too. The swagger-jacking was really kind of embarassing. I hope my man, Frank Cooper ididn’t have anything to do with this.

    - Let’s get to work. As my section said “We got your back”

Have to. And he asked for it too. If this dude gets things even half back on track, he’s gonna go down as one of the all time greats….
