    July 22, 2011

Fresh off the success of the 7th Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, Brooklyn Bodega is not taking a moment to rest as the team from Brooklyn embarks on their newest venture; bringing its brand to the Dekalb Market that launches this weekend

“Consider the Dekalb Market a continuation of The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. On the heels of bringing Q-Tip, Kanye West,  Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Busta Rhymes, Black Thought of The Roots and upcoming talent to Brooklyn like Homeboy Sandman and Eternia, our mission continues… To take what the Festival does annually by establishing a place for fans of Hip-Hop and esidents/visitors to Brooklyn to come congregate, build, eat and drink.”

Located on the old site of the Albee Square Mall, this long-awaited market with stores made out of salvaged shipping containers boasts a variety of pop-up shops in a town square like setting. A joint venture of Urban Space and Youngwoo & Associates, this new community destination will be open seven days a week and is located at the intersection of Flatbush and Willoughby in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Bodega is proud to not only have a vendor space at the market but also operation of the beer garden “The Cooler” that will be open on weekends. other merchandise including limited edition apparel, books, and magazines.

“This reincarnation of the Fat Beats brand is literally a God-send for the Hip-Hop community. Creating an accessible space for fans and artists alike to come congregate for good music, in-store signings and quality merchandise has always been my goal. Situated in Downtown Brooklyn, right off the Fulton Mall, Hip-Hop fans can expect the return of what they loved about Fat Beats combined with Brooklyn Bodega’s emphasis on affordable Hip-Hop programming. Come visit us at Bbeats.”

“We are excited to open Mazie’s first location at the Dekalb Market in conjunction with Brooklyn Bodega as “Bbeats & Bites,” a place where people can come and eat our bite size portions and menu of international soul dishes every day.
